Quality of Life

$4,170 of $35,000 raised

The Quality of Life Program is comprised of LBPD Officers who assist in facilitating services, resources and protection for those experiencing homelessness in Long Beach. The program was founded in 2007 by the Long Beach Police Department to impact vagrancy related crimes, reduce the number of calls for service related to the homeless population, and to seek long term solutions for these issues.

With resources provided by the Long Beach Police Foundation and other community partners, these four teams, each comprised of two officers, connect homeless individuals to non-government agency services, community support groups, housing resources, transportation and mental health services. The Quality of Life Team also provide training to police officers and outside agencies on alternative methods for addressing homeless related issues. The program is primarily funded through grants and individual contributions.

Financial donations are needed most for this program. However, in-kind requests can be fulfilled from the Quality of Life’s Amazon Wish List using the link below. In-kind purchases can be shipped to 2302 N Bellflower Blvd, Floor #2, Long Beach, CA 90815. Checks and any other paper mail can be sent to PO Box 15418, Long Beach, CA 90815.
