Originally established as the Long Beach Police Chief’s Foundation in 1998 by Chief of Police Robert M. Luman, the Foundation was created to simplify directed donations to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). The organization transitioned to a community-based Board of Directors in 2007 and renamed the Long Beach Police Foundation. We are the only charitable organization that provides private, direct funding for LBPD. We are a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and actively seek donations from private businesses and individuals, and facilitate direct, designated donations that support our community safety mission.
